In the death of Christ was the hope of the world. Although it was the most bleak, dark, mysterious moment in human history, it was more packed with promise than the discovery of electricity. It got dark, the curtain between the Holy of Holies and the Holy Place was torn, …and God died. How is that even possible?! Yet since the day His first couple rebelled against God, having something succeed never mattered more to the human race. Though “…this man was innocent”, the sorrow of those watching would have been replaced by hope had they grasped that He was dying for THEM.
